Step 1: Sign Up for a Google Ads Account

Before you can use Google Keyword Planner, you need to sign up for a Google Ads account. You can do this by visiting the Google Ads website and following the instructions to create an account. Once you have created an account, you will be able to access Google Keyword Planner.

Step 2: Access Google Keyword Planner

To access Google Keyword Planner, log in to your Google Ads account and navigate to the “Tools & Settings” menu. From there, select “Keyword Planner.”

Step 3: Choose Your Keyword Research Method

Google Keyword Planner offers two different methods for researching keywords: “Discover new keywords” and “Get search volume and forecasts.” Choose the method that best fits your needs and click on it to continue.

Step 4: Enter Your Seed Keywords

In this step, you will enter your seed keywords, which are the main keywords you want to target. Enter one or more seed keywords and click “Get Started.”

Step 5: Analyze Your Keyword Ideas

After you have entered your seed keywords, Google Keyword Planner will generate a list of keyword ideas. Analyze these keyword ideas and choose the ones that are most relevant to your website or business.

Step 6: Refine Your Keyword List

Once you have chosen your keyword ideas, you can refine your list by using the filters and sorting options provided by Google Keyword Planner. These options allow you to narrow down your list to the keywords that are most relevant and have the highest search volume.

Step 7: Download Your Keyword List

After you have refined your keyword list, you can download it as a CSV file and use it to optimize your website or create ad campaigns.

Conclusion

Google Keyword Planner is a powerful tool that can help you find the right keywords to target for your website or business. By following the steps outlined in this guide, you can use Google Keyword Planner to create a comprehensive keyword list that will help you attract more traffic and grow your business.
